Description:

The Hoffberger Center for Professional Ethics will be hosting its first annual international conference, Legitimate Decision-Making in Times of Crisis. The University of Baltimore's president, Kurt Schmoke, will offer opening remarks along with Interim Provost Catherine Andersen and Deans Roger Hartley and Christine Spencer.

The day-long program includes a line-up of national and international speakers, and the proceedings will be published in a Springer book series under the editorship of Mortimer Sellers in the UBalt School of Law. The conference idea originated from weekly Common Hour discussions among UBalt faculty and students, hosted by the Philosophy, Law, and Ethics program. Common Hour, and the resulting conference, grew from discussions of the pandemic and the social and political unrest that began last spring.

All are welcome to participate and join any part of the day’s proceedings. To attend this Zoom conference, please email Claudette Booth at cbooth@ubalt.edu.
