Learn to create your own website using Adobe Dreamweaver, one of the most powerful and popular tools for creating Web pages. By the end of the four–hour workshop, you’ll have created a sample site ready for publishing to the Web. UB students, staff and faculty can publish their sites using their UB accounts; non–UB attendees require an established hosting account. Adobe Dreamweaver CS 5 will be used.
Specific Topics: identifying what’s new in Adobe Dreamweaver CS5; managing domain names and hosting; setting up project files and defining a local folder; learning website design fundamentals (layouts, templates, HTML/Dreamweaver relationship); refining design skills (images, tables, divs, links, anchors/bookmarks, CSS basics); designing interactive website elements (pop–up windows, dynamic Web page behaviors, navigation menus)
Prerequisites: familiarity with the Internet; Langsdale Library’s Introduction to HTML workshop is recommended but not required
Instructor: Sandi Clay
To Register: Submit the Workshop Registration Form with the course fee ($10 UB students, $30 UB staff and alumni, $45 general public) to the ALC by fax (410.837.6244), mail (University of Baltimore, Achievement and Learning Center, AC 113, 1420 N.
