I was an intern at a non-profit when my dream job came up. I needed to create a business resume quickly. My coach worked with me to translate what I had done in past jobs as a waitress and a nanny into relevant job skills. I applied and got an interview. I went back to the Career Center to prepare for the interview and did the things they told me to do. I got the job! The Career Center was absolutely pivotal.

I came to the Career Center as a work-study student and am now entering the world of work. To say the Career Center has been helpful is an understatement. It is true when they say a great resume is what gets you in the door, and that is what I was able to achieve! I got the job of my choice. The career counselors' and student advisers' assistance was invaluable. I cannot express how much I value the advice I received.

The Career Center was a tremendous resource in helping me focus on positioning myself. In the MBA world, the degree gives you the skills to perform, but strategies are needed for landing a job. My coach helped me determine what I enjoy doing and then create a list of companies that could hire me in utilizing those skill sets. You have to put much thinking into the process to create a foundation for your professional career. My coach helped me do that.

I worked as an intern in the Career Center and learned a lot that I have applied in my current job. My experience enhanced my understanding of what people go through during a job search, making me a more effective counselor. I also learned how to conduct my own job search. I focused on the places where I wanted to work, targeting the employer rather than just the job.

It was an awesome experience working with my career coach. We took my resume from three pages down to two so that I could better market myself. After posting my resume, I received several calls and emails in response. I am very, very pleased.

If it were not for my career coach I would not have gotten the internship lead that I am working on. I went to the Career Center's Resume Rally and mentioned that I was looking for a marketing internship. Now I have a third interview for an internship that is ideal for me. The focus is on marketing, not sales, and is just what I am looking for.
