ODK Committees

Committee Descriptions

General Function of Each Committee:

Establish goals in alignment with the national organization with responsibility to citizenship, promoting and maintaining the ODK ideas on campus so that all student and faculty can benefit by:

  1. Generating Ideas and collaborative brainstorming by members
  2. Planning (via email, phone calls, or meetings)
  3. Event planning including making room and equipment reservation, catering.
  4. Creating marketing and promotional campaigns in alignment with to agenda
  5. Organize manpower for event planning, setup, actual event and cleanup stage, i.e., ODK members, faculty, staff and volunteers
  6. Communicate with and enlist other committees where necessary to effectively and professionally meet objectives.

LIST OF COMMITTEES:

The staffing goal of each committee (except where noted otherwise) is to pursue and maintain 3 or more active members in each committe at all times. Committees shall consist of, at minimum, one ODK officer, one ODK alum, and one student member-at-large.

Fundraising and Events Committee

The goal of the committee is to develop and plan all fundraising opportunities, assist other committees with event planning where funds are expected to be collected and applied to external account.

Additionally, the committee is responsible for planning and executing the initiations ceremony each semester.

Marketing and Communications Committee

This committee assists with all PR, marketing and communications efforts of the ODK Circle, including event publicity, communication with current members, alumni newsletter, and the ODK CIrcle's web site, www.ubalt.edu/odk.

Volunteer and Service Committee

The goal of the committee is to develop, seek, and organize volunteer opportunities within UB and surrounding Baltimore community. The committee is responsible for identifying volunteer activities for ODK to participate with sponsoring group and agency to determine needs, recruiting volunteers and coordinating efforts. They are also responsible for advertising, task and location assignment.

Audit Committee: Two Vacancies

The goal of the committee is to internally Audit ODK to ensure the local chapter practices are in alignment with regional and/or national guidelines. This committee still requires 2 volunteers. Audit previous term based on national guidelines.
