Creating a New Org

So you want to start a new Student Organization on campus. This can be one of the most rewarding thing you can do here at UB.

Below you will see a few steps for creating a Student Organization on campus.

Step 1. Idea Phase, this is where you want to think about what the group will be and how it will operate. Don't get bogged down with the details just yet, just form a good idea

Step 2. Meet with Joe Slider in the Center for Student Involvement to talk about the organization, and for approval to move forward with the creation of the group.

Step 3. Get people involved and build awareness.  Don't worry about the membership requirement at this stage, you really just want to get a good core of people who will help you build the group.  To help CSI Graphics 20 free color flyers (one time only).

Step 4. Talk to interested people and lay the foundation, as well as find a staff or faculty advisor. Then start the constitution

Step 5. Finalize the constitution and plan an interest meeting.  For the interest meeting you will need to meet in room 402A provided my CSI. Again CSI Graphics is here to help you, they will print another 20 free flyers to help advertise the meeting (one time only)

Step 6. Let CSI know you are ready to form and register the organization, then you will receive the registration information packet that details how to register the group.

All completely registered organization will be probationary for one semester, after that semester they become fully active organization and can request funding.
