Student Speaker Application Process
Commencement is a special time of celebration for all members of the University of Baltimore Community where we stop to recognize the exceptional work of our students. The commencement ceremonies feature student speakers who each present a 3-5 minute speech. If you would like to be considered as a student speaker, please complete the student speaker application form by Oct. 20 (Fall) or March 20 (Spring).
Applications should include a draft of their remarks as well as a narrative explaining why their story is compelling. The committee can only review the information submitted so please do your best to provide a complete application. Incomplete application packets will not be considered.
Following the deadline, a committee of faculty and staff will review all submissions and determine the student commencement speakers. The selected speakers will be contacted by the Office of Transitions and Community Engagement to provide committee feedback and review the specific responsibilities of the student speaker.
