Start Strong At UB

  • Step 1: Complete the Next Steps for Admitted Students Checklist.

    The Freshman Next Steps for Admitted Students Checklist is a resource that helps ensure you complete all the necessary steps to becoming a UB student -- from accepting your offer of admission and registering for classes to attending orientation and paying your tuition and fees.

  • Step 2: Sign up for the UB Text Alert System.

    UBs state-of-the-art emergency text alert system is designed for the campus community.

    1. Sign in to the MyUB portal.
    2. Under tools, click on the "Campus Text Alert System" icon.
    3. You will be redirected to the setup page. Follow the instructions.
    4. Have your cell phone with you and turned on.

  • Step 3: Sign up for the LiveSafe app.

    LiveSafe is a revolutionary emergency phone app that connects UB students, faculty and staff to the UB Police Department seamlessly, enabling more efficient communications and response.

    1. Open the Apple iTunes Store or Google Play Store.
    2. Search: "LiveSafe."
    3. Download the FREE App.
    4. Select "Univ. of Baltimore," and use your UB email address for setup.

  • Step 4: Review your course schedule.

    1. Sign in to the MyUB portal.
    2. Select "Class Schedule."

  • Step 5: Determine how you will travel to and from campus.

    Plan your route to and from campus or learn more about the many public transportation options available to you.

    If you are driving to campus, don't forget to purchase a parking pass.

    Once you're here, UB's campus shuttle provides access to many places around the campus community.

  • Step 6: Plan to attend Welcome Week events.

    Visit the Welcome Week page for a full schedule of events happening the first week of the semester. Welcome week events provide great opportunities to build community, connect to resources and experience all that UB and Baltimore have to offer.

  • Step 7: Set up your OrgSync account.

    OrgSyc is your gateway to get involved with UB student organizations. Your account will allow you to browse student organizations, start a new student organization and access additional resources.

    1. Sign in to the MyUB portal.
    2. Under tools, click on the "OrgSync" icon.
    3. You will be redirected to the set up page. Follow the instructions.

  • Step 8: Attend your first class.

    The Fall 2017 semester starts on Monday, August 28, 2017.
