STEP 1 - Notification of issue related to COVID | Student/staff/faculty reports via COMPASS form or email or phone call to the CMSE that a student has tested positive for Covid-19. | ||
STEP 2 | CMSE notifies the CCM. CMSE evaluates the situation. | ||
STEP 3 | CMSE notifies the associate and assistant dean of the impacted college(s). The associate deans contact faculty to address the matter, and then the associate deans update the assistant deans who work with the students to provide guidance on options related to classes and possible coursework adjustments. | ||
STEP 4 | Assistant dean(s) notifies faculty member(s) and associate dean(s) of the student’s plans/status. If a student has courses in more than one school/college, the two deans’ offices should update one another to avoid gaps etc. If the CMSE determines that any individuals have had close contact with the student, CMSE notifies those people or works with schools and HR to make the appropriate notification. |

STEP 2 | Faculty member follows guidance from Human Resources. Supervisor and anyone else with a "need to know" (consistent with regulation) is notified by Human Resources. If students have to be notified of an exposure, HR partners with deans' offices to do so (see Step 4). | ||
STEP 3 | Faculty member follows guidance from Human Resources Dean’s staff works with faculty and department to make arrangements to cover classes as necessary. | ||
STEP 4 | Students are notified of any changes for the class(es). If there are any on-campus courses taught by the faculty member, AND if there is any chance of what qualifies as "close contact," then HR works with the schools to notify any individuals impacted. |
