Laura Wilson-Gentry selected for Leadership Maryland Class of 2013.

Laura Wilson-Gentry, associate dean of the College of Public Affairs, joins 51 other top-level executives in exploring Maryland's critical issues as a part of the organization's Class of 2013.

Founded in 1992, Leadership Maryland is an independent, educational, nonprofit organization designed to inform top-level executives from the public and private sectors about the critical issues, challenges and opportunities facing Maryland and its regions. Wilson-Gentry is one of 52 accomplished and talented statewide leaders selected to participate in the eight-month program.

Following a two-day opening retreat in April, participants will attend five two-day and one one-day intensive sessions focusing on issues such as economic development, education, health and human services, criminal and juvenile justice, environment, and multiculturalism/diversity. More than 100 experts representing business, government, education and the nonprofit community will serve as panelists and guest speakers.

Leadership Maryland is one of 34 state leadership programs nationwide and has graduated more than 900 leaders statewide.
