Behind the glaring lights, sea of cameras, multi-million-dollar budgets and star power of the entertainment world lies an indispensable team of professionals who make the industry tick. Accountants, agents, lawyers, marketing staff, etc.—they’re all a vital part of the showbiz industry, even if they’re not seen strolling down the red carpet. Greer Bosworth, M.P.A. ’79, and Robert Gast, B.S. ’84, M.B.A. ’02, have taken on the challenge of this behind-the-scenes work, albeit on different coasts, and have left an indelible mark on a competitive business.

UB ALUMNI FRAUD SQUAD
Former UB accounting student Erin Murphy, B.S. ’01, M.S. ’03, thought she was in for a traditional financial internship at a Baltimore nonprofit. But when she uncovered a series of
suspicious and significant expenses that led straight to the organization’s executive director, she broke the lid off of a scandal that ultimately brought an entire team of UB grads—including a prosecutor, police detective, law professor and defense attorney—together to bring the culprit to justice.
