What
is the University of Baltimore Legacy Campaign Slogan?
|
| Celebrate
our Past, Embrace our Future! |
|
|
|
What
is the theme of the legacy Campaign?
|
|
Opportunity,
Leadership, Service Since
1925, the University of Baltimore has given its graduates
the opportunity to prepare for success. Today, the results
of that opportunity, through the diligence and creativity
of our 45,000 alumni, are clear and pervasive throughout
every sector of society. We find UB alumni in positions
of leadership in many professions including - law, accounting,
business, and government. During the tenure of President
Turner and his predecessors, the University has developed
a distinguished record of service to our corporate partners,
to the citizens of Baltimore and to the cultural fabric
of our community.

|
When
does the Legacy Campaign conclude?
|
|
| June
30, 2002 |
|
|
| What
are the goals and objectives of the campaign? |
- Raise
UB’s visibility throughout the region
- Engage
UB’s alumni, friends, faculty and staff in celebrating
our mission, milestones and accomplishments
- Secure
at least $20 million in private support to promote
UB’s legacy into the 21st century
|
 |
What
is my role in the campaign? |
|
People
who know the University are UB’s best advocates. Over
60 percent of the men and women who enroll at UB today
come to the University because someone they respect
- a colleague, a friend, a family member or a teacher
has recommended UB as the best place for them to prepare
for professional success. You can help raise UB’s visibility
among the people who matter. Share your knowledge of
UB with someone else, encourage friends to enroll at
UB, or distribute your UB Alumni Magazine to
a colleague or a friend and invite them to visit this
web-site.
We
have many milestones to celebrate over the next three
years, including Dr. Turner’s 30th year as
president and UB’s 75th anniversary. We hope
you will join us as we embark upon this journey.

| Does
my annual gift count in the Legacy Campaign? |
All
contributions between July 1, 1995 and June 30, 2002 count.
The Legacy Campaign is part of the University System of
Maryland’s $700 million Campaign in which all gifts are
counted. |
| |
| Why
should I contribute to the Legacy Campaign? |
|
By
contributing to the Legacy Campaign you will be helping
UB continue educating the future leaders of our region
in business, law and the liberal arts. Specifically,
your contribution will:
-
Support
our efforts to attract and retain the best and brightest
faculty. Our strength as a University depends
a great deal on the quality of our faculty. Legacy
Campaign contributions will enable us to retain
our fine faculty, to attract equally outstanding
new teachers and scholars, and to provide them with
the support necessary to be successful.
-
Allow
a UB education to remain possible for many of the
hard-working men and women of our region regardless
of their financial means. Your commitment
to the Legacy Campaign will help in assuring that
UB remains a place of true opportunity.
-
Enable
the University to provide the resources and information
tools necessary for our faculty and students to
stay up to speed with the ever changing needs of
the business, government and legal communities.
Funding from tuition and state appropriations do
not cover the full scope of special acquisitions
necessary to keep our libraries and information
technology up to date. Your contribution will help
provide the funds necessary to build and maintain
these critical resources.
-
Serve
as an important investment in your degree.
As we continue to improve the quality of a UB education
the value of your degree and the reputation of UB
will both grow. Investing in the Legacy Campaign
is truly an investment you cannot afford to overlook.

|
|
You

ways. All gifts and pledges received before July 1,
2002 by the University of Baltimore Educational Foundation
will be included in the Legacy Campaign. Some of the
opportunities to contribute include:
-
Making
a contribution to the Annual Fund. All annual
gifts are counted toward our $20 million goal.
-
Becoming
a volunteer for UB. Whether you help assist
with an event, mentor a student, or work on a committee
to guide the future of UB, you can help us meet
the goals of the Legacy Campaign by getting involved
with UB. There has never been a better time.
-
Providing
a major gift to the University’s endowment.
