Coaching Services

If you are considering starting a business, have a fairly well developed business idea or a budding entrepreneur, the Center has assembled a strong group of volunteer coaches to assist you. These volunteer coaches are experienced and successful entrepreneurs, industry professionals, executives, venture capitalists and angel investors. Building a team of complementary talent is an essential step toward venture success. Our networking events are designed to create high value encounters among entrepreneurs and investors, and are often coordinated with other leading organizations in the region to ensure broad exposure to entrepreneurial thinkers. As a leading force within the Baltimore Entrepreneurial Ecosystem the Center’s commitment to develop and grow meaningful connections between the entrepreneurial community, government officials and the private sector, the Center periodically hosts roundtable events. Roundtables provide a platform where business owners, government officials, and the private sector gather to discuss opportunities and challenges within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. [ Learn more ]

Students interested in starting a business or developing a venture concept are invited to submit an expression of interest in participating in the internship program. The CEI works closely with faculty and other University departments to coordinate placement into internship opportunities with top entrepreneurs from the region. Internships are highly selective, and are filled on a case-by-case basis, contingent upon the availability of a sponsoring organization. Internships provide opportunities to shadow business owners and acquire experience in diverse business disciplines. Each intern is expected to commit to a code of professional ethics and conduct. CEI’s Apprenticeship Program matches students and sponsoring organizations who share a very specific area of interest. The program offers apprentices an opportunity to develop business skills within a targeted industry, and provides an excellent opportunity to begin building a foundation within the targeted industry.
