The city's sights, sounds and rhythms will come to life through contemporary dance, video, soundscapes and other attractions when "A Dance Called Baltimore" takes place on Aug. 13 and 14 at the historic North Avenue Market, 20. W. North Ave. This free and open event will begin on Friday at 12:30 p.m. and on Saturday at 6 p.m. The performance will begin on the sidewalk outside the market and then move inside. Free pizza will be provided by Joe Squared.
"A Dance Called Baltimore" is a collaboration between the University of Baltimore and the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, and is part of the Baltimore Song Project. The participating dancers, ranging in age from 13 to 15, are members of the Peabody Preparatory Dance Program.
