The University of Baltimore earned a 2013 Silver CASE Accolades Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education District II for its 2011 Service Awards video, part of the University's annual celebration recognizing faculty and staff who have been at UB for periods ranging from five years to as many as 45 years. The award will be formally presented to UB officials at CASE District II's conference in Pittsburgh on March 4.
CASE Accolades judges praised UB's Service Awards presentation, saying, "Very nice video to display a true appreciation for employees. Very genuine and showcases the quality of life at UB. A different approach to really make employees feel important."
The video blends photographic portraits and short testimonials about employees who are deserving of special recognition for their service to the University. It was screened for a large gathering of UB employees, friends and alumni at the annual Service Awards ceremony in late 2011. A second video using the same format was produced for the 2012 ceremony.
The Office of University Relations, working with the Judith McDonald and Rebecca Spence in the Office of Human Resources, created the piece. It was well received across the campus as a way to warmly and sincerely honor those who have provided invaluable service to the institution in their roles as educators, administrators and support staff.
