First Exhibition for Designer-Turned-Painter Mike McConnell, Now in Student Center Gallery

Mike McConnell, an illustrator with years of experience and awards for his freelance work for design firms and advertising agencies in the Baltimore and Washington area, is announcing his new commitment to fine art with an exhibition of his paintings in the University of Baltimore's Student Center Gallery. The show, his first as a painter, is on display in the gallery now through Aug. 19. The gallery is located on the fifth floor of the Student Center, 21 W. Mt. Royal Ave.
McConnell is a 1975 graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art. His illustrations have been featured in numerous design publications, including Print's Regional Design Awards, the Society of Illustrators Annual, and HOW Magazine's Annual. Last fall, McConnell made a commitment to focus exclusively on fine art.
The Student Center Gallery, located adjacent to the Wright Theater, is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
