University of Baltimore President Robert Bogomolny recently appeared on WYPR's Humanities Connection program to discuss changing perceptions of the importance of the humanities in the development of educated, capable citizens. His talk follows the release of "The Heart of the Matter," a report by the American Academy of Arts and Sciences intended to spur dialogue on the role that the humanities and social sciences play in shaping future leaders and advocating for a balanced educational approach.
The report "underscores what many of us in higher education already know—that the humanities are more important, and more relevant, than ever before," Bogomolny said.
The program, presented by the Maryland Humanities Council, is available here.
