Five middle schools in Montgomery County schools are lowering their truancy rates for students through the Truancy Court Program, created by the Sayra and Neil Meyerhoff Center for Families, Children and the Courts in the University of Baltimore School of Law.

The Montgomery Gazette explores the program in a feature article published on Nov. 27.

"My favorite point is when we're no longer talking about attendance issues, but talking about academic issues—that's when we know it's working," said one county official involved in the program.
