In a letter to The Baltimore Sun, Johnetta Hardy, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the University of Baltimore's Merrick School of Business, says that UB, its sister institutions and state government are establishing an entrepreneurial culture where businesses of all kinds can thrive.
"At the University of Baltimore, we are teaching entrepreneurship," Hardy writes. "We're nurturing a growing entrepreneurial ecosystem, one that goes from newly-funded high-tech firms to new service industries and from venture capitalists to business owners peeling off parts of their successful companies for others to run. In this ecosystem, 'keep it in Maryland' is a key message."
