Six student and alumni finalists for the University of Baltimore's 2015 Leonard and Phyllis Attman Competitive Business Prize have been announced by the University's Merrick School of Business and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The group will compete to claim the top prize at an event scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 17 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the atrium of the William H. Thumel Sr. Business Center (home of the Merrick School of Business), 11 W. Mt. Royal Ave., and in the adjacent M. Scot Kaufman Auditorium.
The Leonard and Phyllis Attman Competitive Business Prize provides seed funding for business ventures for University of Baltimore students and alumni. Now in its second year, and a highlight of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the competition is UB's version of the hit TV series, Shark Tank: Finalists compete for cash prizes—this year totaling $16,000 in cash and in-kind services—before a live audience and expert judges. The competition's winnings provide seed funding for existing innovative business ventures.
