The University of Baltimore will celebrate National Career Development throughout November with a series of events and workshops designed to actively engage students who are in the process of determining their career plans. Using the theme "What Do You Want to Do?," students will be encouraged to consider what kind of impact they want to make in their fields or areas of interest. For example, a student may say that he or she wants to be a politician—but with a bit of work it may become clear that he or she actually is passionate about reforming government. UB's Career and Professional Development Center is leading this important effort.
Special events being hosted for students during the month include:
- Professional Etiquette Dinner, Tuesday, Nov. 10, 4-6 p.m., Sammy's Trattoria
Learn how to improve your networking and dining etiquette skills from an experienced business etiquette trainer. - Federal Nonprofit Career Fair, Thursday, Nov. 12, 3-6 p.m., UB Student Center, Hilda and Michael Bogomolny Room
Come meet with representatives from several federal agencies and nonprofit organizations to learn about their various employment and internship opportunities and potential career paths. - Be Ready: Professional Development Workshops, various dates, times and locations
Check out opportunities for tips on many aspects of preparing for a successful career.
