The University of Baltimore School of Law climbed 11 notches in the latest rankings by U.S. News & World Report. The school's clinical training program is top 25 nationally, and its part-time program also was recognized.
The school is now ranked at #111, climbing nearly 25 places in two years. Its clinical training program is ranked #21 nationally, while its part-time program is ranked #36.
Ronald Weich, dean of the School of Law, tells The Daily Record that the school's rise in the rankings can be attributed, in part, to its decision to maintain admission standards while there were fewer applicants at law schools across the country.
"It’s very important to enroll the students who have the tools to succeed in this market, and that's what we've done," Weich said.
He noted that the school's reputation is on the rise in the legal community because UB graduates are attaining employment in the profession. In turn, this affects overall rankings.
"This is really a mark of the hard work of our students and the commitment of our faculty to excellence," Weich said.
