The University of Baltimore's fully online Master of Public Administration program has received a Top 10 ranking from Value Colleges, a website that searches for highly affordable, reputable academic programs at accredited institutions across the country. UB's M.P.A., offered through the College of Public Affairs, placed #8 in the 2016 rankings, just below the University of Southern California and one spot above the online M.P.A. at American University.
"It's exciting to be recognized as a quality program with value," said Roger Hartley, dean of the College of Public Affairs. "We are accessible, affordable, and do all of this with quality. It's a terrific program with incredible faculty, and we're known for producing leaders who change people's lives."
"The University of Baltimore is the University System of Maryland's premiere urban university, located in the center of the city," the website states in its review of UB. "Originally founded to bring educational opportunity to the working people of Baltimore, UB was solely an upper-division school for most of its history, offering graduate courses and junior/senior-level courses. A full university today, UB's focus is still on the professions of city life—business, law, and applied arts and sciences.
"In the interest of making education even more available for Maryland’s working adults, UB's College of Public Affairs offers a fully online MPA degree that has been recognized as among the best degrees of its kind."
Value Colleges said it established its online M.P.A. rankings by considering accreditation (including approval by NASPAA, from which UB's program receives its accreditation), program cost, and reputation.
"By ranking schools with the perfect balance of educational quality and affordability, the Value Colleges method gives students, from working adults to new college grads, confidence that their graduate degree choice will give them a worthwhile return on their investment."
