The University of Baltimore is ranked #23 nationally in the 2016 Washington Monthly College Rankings, in the category of Best 4-Year Colleges for Adult Learners. It's the first time the publication has compiled a list in this category; 50 colleges and universities were ranked this way.
UB is among a varied group of institutions in the Adult Learners category, including the University of Iowa, Regis University, the Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of Buffalo, and several more of different sizes and types. UB is the only Maryland campus cited in the list of 50. Both public and private institutions were rated by the magazine, in categories including:
- ease of transfer;
- flexibility of programs;
- services for adult students;
- percentage of students over age 25.
UB's #23 placement was one spot above Winona State University, and one below Regis.
The average age of undergraduates at the University of Baltimore is 27; for graduates it is 32, and for students in the School of Law it is 29. UB encourages transfers and supports students of all kinds through its Career and Professional Development Center.
