Educators from Maryland schools of all kinds—public and private, Kindergarten through graduate programs—are invited to attend an Internet2 Research and Education Day at the University of Baltimore on Friday, Oct. 14 beginning at 9 a.m. Taking place in the Moot Court Room in the John and Frances Angelos Law Center, home of the UB School of Law, the half-day conference will provide useful information on a range of topics in the realm of the Internet and education. The event is free; online registration is required (details listed below). The Angelos Law Center is located at 1401 N. Charles St.
Among the discussion topics are:
- the Internet of things: what this evolving area means to Maryland schools and campuses, research and pedagogy;
- Internet2's K20 initiative and its impact on teaching, learning and research;
- life sciences research and bio-informatics;
- research computing and how Internet2/Maryland Education and Research Network is supporting researchers in maryland with products, solutions, and services;
- TIER: trust and identity in education and research.
