The Maryland Commission on Civil Rights and the University of Baltimore's Schaefer Center for Public Policy are launching a new program next year entitled the Maryland Equity and Inclusion Leadership Program to support organizations in taking a proactive approach to addressing diversity and inclusion. Participants in the program will learn diversity and inclusion best practices, enhance their personal leadership and management skills, and become part of a diverse alumni network of program graduates. Leaders from all sectors—public, private, and non-profit—are encouraged to apply before the Monday, Dec. 12 deadline.
"Now is the time to continue making progress in addressing equity and inclusion," said Ann Cotten, director of the Schaefer Center. "We have assembled an exceptional group of speakers and experts to help organizations make real advances in those areas where common problems can sometimes frustrate and drive away our best, most qualified employees and volunteers. Inequality is a fundamental issue in today's workplace and organizational environment, and we're urging those who want create change in their organization to sign up for the program. We still have a few slots available."
