The UB Campus Pantry is working throughout January to prepare for students, faculty, and staff returning in the new year. Though the traditional giving season is over, the pantry will still rely heavily on donations to make its second semester in operation successful.
"We received so many donations over the holiday break," said AmeriCorps VISTA Simone Champagnie, lead organizer for the Campus Pantry. "But the need is continuous after the holidays are over."
The UB Campus Pantry, a project of the Office of Transitions and Community Engagement, started in the fall of 2016 as a way to alleviate hunger in the UB community. Along with non-perishable food and household items, the pantry provides information about and connections to local hunger services in Baltimore City. It is located in the second floor café area in the Student Center.
Monetary donations can be made online here.
