The University of Baltimore will host the second annual symposium of the Maryland Research and Education Network (MDREN) on Friday, Sept. 29, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Moot Court Room in UB's John and Frances Angelos Law Center, 1401 N. Charles St. MDREN is the state's broadest research and education group supporting 35 educational, research and public service institutions, providing cost effective data connections to regional and national resources as well as engagement opportunities for its members.
UB hosted the first MDREN symposium last August, focused on a number of technology-related topics. This year's event focuses on ways that the organization can foster collaboration on commonalities such as student success, accessibility, libraries and content, telephony and collaboration, and the evolving "cloud" approach to services. Additionally, the quarterly meeting of the first MDREN community of practice, focused on business analysis and project management, is coinciding with the Sept. 29 symposium.
