A matching pledge has been issued by University of Baltimore President Kurt L. Schmoke, a member of the UB Foundation board and UB's five deans, as part of UB's annual Giving Tuesday campaign on Nov. 28. The "Bow on Poe" campaign raises funds for student scholarships, special learning opportunities, and so on.
Donors can help UB earn an additional $22,000 on Giving Tuesday—President Schmoke and other institutional leaders together have pledged to match every dollar raised on Nov. 28, up to $22,000. Your generous gift can be worth twice as much on Giving Tuesday and will be doubly helpful to UB students in the new year.
For the past several years, the University of Baltimore has joined the worldwide Giving Tuesday movement. Contributions provide direct, student-focused support for each of UB's four schools—the Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Public Affairs, the Merrick School of Business, the School of Law—and Langsdale Library.
The amount of your gift is up to you, but the schools and the library are competing with each other to see which one can garner the highest number of gifts. So, sure—give more than once, and help out your favorite UB school/library.
