The University of Baltimore's Digital Whimsy Lab—home base for UB students and faculty working on important questions about computers, design, and technology users—will host World Interaction Design Day - Baltimore, a roundtable discussion covering topics related to the intersection of interaction design, responsibility, and Baltimore. It will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the lobby of the H. Mebane Turner Learning Commons on the UB campus, 1415 Maryland Ave. The event is free and open to the public; tickets are available here. Seating is limited.
"Attendees will get a chance to learn about cutting edge topics around usability, trust, and responsibility as well as meet other design professionals in the Baltimore area," says Greg Walsh, associate professor in the Division of Science, Information Arts and Technologies and director of the D.S. in Information and Interaction Design program.
This event, sponsored by the University of Baltimore's UX and Interaction Design programs, localizes World Interaction Design Day, an annual global celebration led by Adobe and the Interaction Design Association of "interaction design impact on improving the human condition." Events are taking place in communities around the world on Sept. 24, including presentations, workshops, showcases for interaction design, and knowledge sharing.
