The University of Baltimore Foundation has announced the appointment of a new board chair for a two-year term. The foundation is a designated 501c3, first established in 1969. In addition to assisting in the financial well-being of the institution, the board also provides leadership, oversight and guidance to the UBalt administration in advancing the mission of The University of Baltimore.
Nina K. Yudell, B.S. '81, M.B.A. '82, has been named chair of the board. Yudell is a partner and portfolio manager at Brown Advisory. She previously served as a member of the Merrick School of Business Dean's Advisory Board. In her position at Brown Advisory, Yudell is responsible for offering investment guidance to high net worth individual and institutional clients and investing their assets primarily in common stocks and fixed income securities such as municipals and corporate bonds. Prior to her position at Brown Advisory, Yudell worked for Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. and T. Rowe Price Associates. In 1992 she accepted an offer at Alex. Brown Investment Management (ABIM). In 2008, ABIM merged into Brown Advisory.
Yudell served as an adjunct faculty member at New Hampshire College where she taught courses in finance. A summa cum laude graduate, Yudell earned her B.S. in 1981 and her M.B.A. in 1982 from The University of Baltimore. In 2003, she earned her M.S.B. (Accelerated Financial Management) degree from Johns Hopkins University.
