Prof. Lingelbach: Oligarch 'On the Defensive' in Wake of Sanctions

Interviewed by Bloomberg News about the state of affairs of noted Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, University of Baltimore Merrick School of Business Prof. David Lingelbach says war-related sanctions have taken their toll on the billionaire.
"He's not on the top of his game anymore," Lingelbach says. "It seems to me that he is on the defensive."
For the last several months, Prof. Lingelbach, who served as Bank of America's president for its Russian operations in the 1990s and now teaches entrepreneurship at UBalt, has provided expert commentary about oligarchs. The war in Ukraine has aroused global interest in these magnates, with Abramovich—the UK-based businessman who once owned the Chelsea Football Club—receiving considerable attention.
