Applications are being accepted for the Maryland Equity and Inclusion Leadership Program, offered jointly by the Schaefer Center for Public Policy at The University of Baltimore and the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights. The program is offered fully online. Applications are due by July 10.
The 8-week Maryland Equity and Inclusion Leadership Program combines live online and self-paced instruction. The program is comprehensive, academically grounded, and job-relevant. Participants have the opportunity to learn from faculty and practitioners, hear from guest speakers, participate in group discussions, and interact online and in peer groups. Participants work in groups to complete a project on developing a policy or training program that focuses on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
The program is open to executive, mid-level, and emerging leaders without substantial DEI knowledge or experience and who wish to acquire the requisite knowledge, attitudes, and skills to develop and support DEI in their organizations.
Julie Della Marie, executive director of Downtown Sykesville Connection, shares her experience in the program: "Thank you so much for this incredible program that rewired my brain and gave me the knowledge and confidence to do meaningfully work as a 'JEDI' in my field and region."
Two cohorts will be offered, in the fall of 2023 and spring of 2024. Learn more about the Maryland Equity and Inclusion Leadership Program and apply online at the Maryland Equity & Inclusion Leadership Program website.
