Jean L. Connor began writing poems after retiring from a long career as a librarian in New York State. She lives and writes at Wake Robin retirement community in Shelburne, Vermont. The poems in A Cartography of Peace, written between her 75th and 85th year, honor the “width of time” that comes at this stage of life, and reflect the clarity of vision developed through her lifelong meditative practice. United States Poet Laureate Ted Kooser selected one of Connor’s poems for inclusion in his 2005 series, American Life in Poetry. She won the 2001 Passager Poetry Contest. |
