Students with Disabilities

University of Baltimore

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 obligates the university to make certain adjustments and accommodations in their programs, activities and facilities to provide qualified persons with disabilities opportunities equal to those enjoyed by qualified non-disabled persons.

The vice president for student and academic services is responsible for coordinating the university's compliance with Section 504 and the ADA and thus, all services for students with disabilities. The Services Specialist at the Office of Disability Support Services arranges for note-takers and tape recorders for visually impaired students or students unable to write, and for interpreters for deaf students. The university has a micro-computer with large type monitor/text reader for visually impaired students. Any questions about disabled students should be directed to the Office of Disability Support Services.
