Practicum in Writing (WRIT 200)

This course is designed to increase your ability to write clear, effective, and error-free sentences and paragraphs. Models for writing will be drawn from a variety of contemporary materials. Assignments build in degree of complexity with a goal that each student is able to write an effective persuasive essay by the end of the course.

Practicum may be taken as a three-credit lower-division elective* and/or a substitute for the writing placement exam. Students who pass this course do not need to take the writing placement test before taking Ideas in Writing (WRIT 300), a required upper-division writing course.

*Consult your academic adviser to find out whether you can use WRIT 200's three lower division elective credits to meet your graduation requirements.
