The University of Baltimore Campus Report Card was developed to assess the effectiveness of the Strategic Plan by measuring the progress of key performance indicators by fiscal year. The 2009 Report Card can be found here, along with the below definitions of each indicator.

Transfer Student Graduation Rate

percent of transfer students who complete graduation requirements within five years of their start date; note that graduation rates are typically defined over a six-year period; the University will begin reporting six-year graduation rates for FY 10

 

Transfer Student Retention Rate

 

percent of transfer students who registered for classes at the University for a second consecutive year following their first year

 

Faculty Publications

 

number of books and refereed articles authored by UB faculty members

number of grants awarded to UB faculty members

 

Enrollment

 

number of full- and part-time students enrolled in classes during the fall semester in all of the University's three schools; FY 08 reflects fall 2007 enrollment and FY 09 reflects fall 2008 enrollment

 

Freshman Enrollment

 

number of freshmen enrolled in classes during the fall semester; FY 08 reflects fall 2007 enrollment and FY 09 reflects fall 2008 enrollment

 

Employee Participation in Service Activities

 

number of staff and faculty members who participated in University-sponsored volunteer activities, including Community Service Day, HEROES Academy and the Holiday Giving Drive

 

Campus Volunteer Hours

 

number of hours that students, faculty and staff donated to University-sponsored volunteer activities, including Community Service Day, HEROES Academy and the Holiday Giving Drive

 

Transfer Student Graduation Achievement Gap

 

the difference (or gap), as defined by the Maryland Higher Education Commission, between percent of all transfer students and percent of African-American transfer students who complete graduation requirements within five years of their start date; positive values signify that the graduation rate of African-American students exceeds the rate of all students

 

First and Second Year Program Retention Gap

 

the difference (or gap), as defined by the Maryland Higher Education Commission, between percent of all First and Second Year Program students and percent of African-American First and Second Year students who registered for classes at the University for a second consecutive year following their first year; positive values signify that the rate of African-American students who registered for classes in that second year exceeds the rate of all students

 

Employee Retention Rate

 

percent of regular faculty and staff who remained with the University for the entire fiscal year

 

Minority Employee Retention Rate

 

percent of minority regular faculty and staff who remained with the University for the entire fiscal year

 

Institutional Financial Aid

 

money provided to students by the University as financial assistance; 38 percent of UB students were also awarded federal and state aid in FY 09, which totaled $3,777,766

 

Actual New Dollars and Pledges Raised

 

new dollar and pledge amount in donations to the University during the fiscal year

 

Square Footage of Enhanced Campus Facilities
