Admission to graduate study at the University of Baltimore is granted to any applicant with a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution whose academic qualifications indicate promise of success in graduate study. Admission to the University of Baltimore is determined without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, handicap, or sexual orientation.

Q: What is the UB/Towson MBA program?
The University of Baltimore / Towson University MBA (UB/Towson MBA) offers many advantages not found in other MBA programs. You will be enrolled in one program combining the strengths of two of the best business schools in the region. Ninety percent of the professors hold terminal degrees and experience in their fields. The MBA program offers students a collaborative learning environment and an innovative, relevant, and quality curriculum providing real world learning inside and outside of the classroom. Q: Are there standardized test requirements?
The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is required for all graduate business programs. (Scores from the GRE, LSAT, MCAT or PCAT may be substituted.)
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required for the Master's in Applied Psychology, the Master’s in Interaction Design and Information Architecture, the Doctor of Communications Design and the Doctor of Public Administration.

Q: Do you offer any test preparation for the GMAT or GRE?

Q: Can the GMAT requirement be waived?
A request for GMAT waiver can be submitted and will be reviewed by the Committee on Graduate Admissions & Retention. The Committee will carefully examine an applicant's academic and professional qualifications to determine if the GMAT requirement can be waived.

Graduate program directors make admissions decisions after all application materials are submitted and the application is complete. Once an Admission decision is made, you are notified in your MyUB account and by mail.

Q: How do I apply for financial aid?

Q: What student support services does UB offer?
Many student and academic services offices are open 8:30 am to 6 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Friday. These offices include admissions, financial aid, student involvement, records, the business office and student advising. In addition, the bookstore, the library and the student lounges have scheduled their hours according to the needs of commuter students.

Q: What resources are available to help students with housing?
Although there is no housing on campus information regarding off-campus housing in the area is available from the Rosenberg Center for Student Involvement . The staff maintains listings of houses, apartments, and rooms to rent or share, as well as names of other students looking for housing. Q: UB is an urban campus, what is in place for safety?
UB's Department of Public Safety is divided into four components: police, security, parking enforcement and transportation. Public Safety provides shuttle bus service between parking facilities and University buildings at approximate 15-minute intervals, 7:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday.
When the Shuttle Service ends, police escorts are available between University facilities during the following time periods: 11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m., Monday-Thursday; 5 p.m.-12:30 a.m., Friday; and from sundown to 11:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
Q: I was a student at UB in past years and was interested in finishing my degree.
You must be formally readmitted if you have not taken any classes for credit at UB for more than two consecutive semesters and have not received an official leave of absence from the dean of your college.
Graduate students seeking readmission must have their decision approved by the appropriate department. You must submit a new application and application fee. Depending on the program, you may need to submit a new personal essay or statement of interest. Documents from your original file may be available for use with your new application.
Q: Can I take courses at UB to transfer back to my home institution?
A student who has matriculated into a graduate or professional studies program at another regionally recognized university and who is in good standing may be accepted for course enrollment on a space available basis. Visitors from other universities must file an application as a visiting student. A letter of introduction from your program director, citing the foregoing conditions, is required in lieu of meeting other GMAT or transcript requirements. This letter should state what specific courses (name, number, semester and section) are being approved by your home institution.
Q: I am a student at another University System of Maryland school. I would like to take a course at UB. What is the procedure?
It is the policy of the University System of Maryland (USM) to allow graduate students at the University of Baltimore to register for graduate courses at any other USM school. Likewise, students at other USM institutions may register for classes at the University of Baltimore. Prior approval by the student’s academic adviser and by the Registrar at the student’s home and host institution is required.
The procedure to register for this program are as follows:
The personnel in your host school can approve the course request and then fax it to the University of Baltimore Records Office at 410.837.4820. You may then register for the course. The telephone number for the Records Office is 410.837.4825 if you want to follow up. Courses taken at another USM institution through this program are counted as part of the student’s regular program at their home school and the student pays their home school tuition and fees.
Q: How will UB let me know when I am admitted?
The Office of Graduate Admission will send you a letter offering admission for the term indicated on your application. The letter also gives you a checklist of "things to do" regarding course academic advising, course registration, parking and student ID's. The offer of admission is for that particular term only.
Q: What do I do after receiving my admissions letter?
Admitted students must accept their offer of admission through MyUB before they can register for classes. If you lose or forget your user ID and password you can reset them on the self-service password reset page.
Q: What if I was admitted to UB but decide not to attend at this time?
If you have been admitted to a graduate program and you decide you must defer your enrollment to another semester you should contact the Office of Graduate Admissions. You may defer your admission one time to the next major semester. Deferments must be requested in writing and submitted by email or regular mail. Please direct your email to gradadmissions@ubalt.edu.
If your application was incomplete or denied, you must submit a new online application and pay a new application fee.

Your first step is to see your academic advisor. Academic Advisors assist students in planning their academic careers and in selecting appropriate courses to satisfy degree requirements. Students are required to see their advisor before the first registration, in addition to any add/drop activity.
