Financial Aid & Loan Checks
Once financial aid has been disbursed to the Bursar's Office, the process of ordering refund checks begin.
Beginning this fall, the University of Baltimore will participate in the Direct Lending Program. Find out more about the Direct Lending Program by clicking here.
All Direct Loan refunds will be processed through the Comptroller of Maryland’s office. As in the past, we will begin to process refunds as funds are disbursed, which is 10 days prior to the start of classes for the term.
To assist with the timely receipt of financial aid refunds, please make sure your local address is correct in PeopleSoft. This can be accomplished by going to the My Student Center in the MyUB portal and reviewing the information contained in the Personal Information section. You can update your address by clicking the edit box next to your address to make any changes.
If you are concerned about having funds to purchase books, we encourage you to sign up for the book credit program through the Office of Financial Aid prior to the disbursement of your financial aid. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid at 410-837-4763 or visit the office for further information.
If you have any additional questions about the Direct Lending Program, contact the Office of Financial Aid at financial-aid@ubalt.edu.
How do I determine if I will be receiving a refund?
Answer:
Log into the student portal and click on My Student Center under My Self Service in the upper, left hand corner.
- Under the Finances section click Account Inquiry; under My Account.
- Click activity to view financial details for the current term;
- If you are receiving a refund you will see Refund Student Annapolis in the "Refund Column". Please note, your check will be mailed directly to your local address that is listed in PeopleSoft, usually, no later than 10 business days from the request date listed on your account.
