Founded in 1984 under the direction of the Office of Student Activities - now known as the Center for Student Involvement - SEB was established to complement the student governments. While the SEB is not officially a government (like the Undergraduate Student Senate, Graduate Student Senate or Student Bar Association), we work side by side with student senate members. Our collective goal is to provide forums for creative and productive interaction for UB students.
Since our beginning, SEB has produced a wide variety of special events for the UB community. We've brought both national and regional entertainers and speakers to UB stages, and have hosted events at neighboring venues, including the Lyric Opera House, the Hippodrome Theater, Ravens Stadium and the National Aquarium. SEB has offered and continues to offer reasonably priced tickets/admissions for trips to D.C, Philadelphia, New York, and to Broadway shows like RENT, Lion King, Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. We are also heavily involved in charitable fundraisers, both on the UB campus and within the greater Baltimore community.
