Doing your best academically means more than attending class and studying. It means learning about professors' expectations, finding and using university resources, and knowing where to turn when you have a problem or concern. Peer Network advisers are veteran student "buddies" who can help.
If you are a new undergraduate or international graduate student, you can request a peer adviser to be your campus guide during your first weeks at UB. Your peer adviser will give you the unofficial, uncensored, insider's perspective on surviving, thriving, and just plain enjoying yourself at UB. You can get tips on
Your peer network adviser can be “on-call” to you during the first weeks of the semester to answer questions, address concerns or problems, introduce you to students and professors in your school or major, provide support during stressful times, and/or notify you of services and events of interest. If you're new to Baltimore, your adviser can acquaint you with the metropolitan area. If you're an international student, your adviser can assist you in getting settled in and can inform you about American customs.

Once you are admitted to the University as a degree-seeking undergraduate or international graduate student, you will receive an invitation to request a Peer Adviser. You can request an adviser by clicking here. Or, pick up one of our request forms around campus or download the form and fax it to 410.837.6244, drop it off in AC 116, or mail it to the Academic Resource Center, 1420 N Charles St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
