For Faculty

Faculty Resources

As teaching faculty, have you ever:

  • wished a student could write more clearly?
  • wanted to offer students several learning style options but didn't have the classroom time?
  • wanted to teach more challenging material without leaving struggling students behind?

If you said yes to even one, the Academic Resource Center can help.

With tutoring, study groups, workshops, classroom presentations and more, we offer students a variety of ways to learn new skills, polish old ones, or reinforce what they learn in class. (Many services are available via e-mail and phone/fax.) We hope you'll explore our web site to find out more about them.

We've designed these "For Faculty" pages to make it easy for you to ask for things from us and make suggestions.

Request support for your course

The Academic Resource Center works with faculty to provide course-specific tutoring and facilitated study groups. If you don't see your course on our current list of supported courses, find out how tutors or study group facilitators could help—and how to request one.

Encourage your students to use ARC services

Request an in-class presentation

Dismissing class early on the first day? Cancelling class while you're at a conference? Instead, why not schedule an ARC guest presenter to review important writing or quantitative topics, or provide learning and success advice?

Request a class visit by ARC staff.

Read literature and research on student success.
