The material housed in Special Collections at UB's Langsdale Library is varied and extensive. A significant portion of library's archival material was once part of a collection called the Baltimore Region Institutional Studies Center (BRISC), assembled in the 1970s under the leadership of urban sociologist and UB professor Ted Durr.
