The transfer program coordinator is primarily responsible for the implementation of the University’s strategic recruitment direction to build community college partnerships and create or expand transfer pipelines to help stabilize and increase enrollment at UBalt. The coordinator will focus on building partnerships with community colleges to create prospective and new transfer student enrollment pipelines with articulation agreements, dual enrollment, and dual admission agreements. The coordinator will also work with employers and government agencies and academic partners to create training and retraining, degree completion and continuation pathways for upper mobility opportunities within the greater Baltimore community. The transfer program coordinator will focus on connecting UBalt programs to partners to build awareness and develop, in partnership with academic program leaders, concrete agreements aimed at maximizing student transfer credits and program pathways’ curricular alignment.
Using relationship management, the transfer coordinator will assist prospects through the enrollment process by identifying needs and engaging any combination of ancillary support, i.e., advising, placement testing, residency, transfer credit evaluation and financial aid. They will be accountable for developing and managing complex, thoughtful and solution-driven relationships with key influencers and decision-makers in designated geographic markets within Maryland, specifically with UBalt academic and enrollment leadership, community leaders, and community colleges to create and sustain pipelines to UBalt enrollment.

Key Functions/Responsibilities/Tasks:
Meet aggressive enrollment growth goals by actively pursuing community partnerships to create pipelines of prospects and applicants. Responsible for outreach efforts through various strategies to market and inform prospective students of pipeline opportunities. Responsible for making visits with community colleges to meet with partners and students. Will measure and meet targets for new transfer student enrollment through partnership pipelines. Will plan, schedule, attend, and present at recruitment events such as community college fairs, and community college visits and other local and regional events to market opportunities at UBalt. Research, recommend and initiate the use of new recruiting opportunities based on partner and target audience feedback as well as best practices in enrollment management. Conduct on-going analysis of established partner pipelines and when necessary, adjust recruitment strategies/activities as necessary to achieve goals.
Identify new partnership opportunities and leading UBalt teams to implement new agreements. Each semester will visit partnership sites and meet with partnership teams to ensure continued satisfaction and cooperation between institutions and agencies. Maintains agreement databases and annually updates agreements as needed. Advise prospective students via nurturing campaigns and at least bi-weekly contact as they make decisions about furthering their education by providing information about the University, its programs, partners, procedures, and campus life.
Works with the undergraduate team, the assistant director for EM recruitment communication and the Office of Marketing to develop messaging and communication to attract and enroll new students via established pipelines to include the web site, CRM communication, and collateral materials. Creates and maintains a partnership website highlighting UBalt’s partners and opportunities.
Responsible for the evaluation and admission of students who are applying via UBalt’s pipelines. Manage outreach and provide assistance to applicants, admissions staff, and program using TargetX, ImageNow, and PeopleSoft, review, verify, and update application status daily. Ensure complete admissions files for applicants by scanning documents, linking documents from ImageNow to PeopleSoft records, and updating checklist status, education screens, and other data in CRM and PeopleSoft as needed. Expertly use enrollment technology (CRM, Peoplesoft) by using relevant fields, dashboards and reporting to check application status, directors, and advisers. Identify any problems with technology and work with enrollment technology team to develop solutions.
Establish and maintain relationships with key partners within and outside of the University of Baltimore. Maintain relationships with various on-campus staff to facilitate enrollment. Participate in professional organization activities. Network with other admission professionals to ascertain best practices in the field. Understand competitive activity (new recruitment practices, scholarship activity etc.,) within the region and critically evaluate and recommend any adjustments needed to undergraduate transfer recruitment initiatives. Works with academic affairs to support recruitment efforts, develop articulation agreements, and align community college/four-year curriculum to ensure ease of transfer credits and academic preparedness; focus on expanding opportunities for credit for prior learning. Supports Shady Grove enrollment initiatives by developing, implementing and assessing a recruitment plan for programs offered at the Universities at Shady Grove campus.
Required Education:

Preferred Education:
Master’s degree Sales, Marketing, Public Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Business, Communications, Education
Required Experience:
Three years of professional experience in admission, academic advising, building partnerships, or related field/discipline
Preferred Experience:
Five years professional experience in admission, academic advising, partnership-building, sales, marketing, or related field/discipline. Knowledge of and experience with Maryland community colleges and state agencies.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs. Ability to learn and adapt to new technology while staying current with emerging technology; seeks opportunities to apply available technology to improve department results/service delivery. Is results-oriented; takes accountability for completing work assignments; meets commitments and deadlines. Responds with appropriate urgency to internal and external requests for information and/or assistance, collaborations etc. Excellent public speaking with the ability to inspire an audience to action. Contributes ideas and shares information within and across work groups; shares lessons learned, documents processes.
