Are you passionate about transforming education and empowering faculty to succeed? The Bank of America Center for Excellence in Learning, Teaching, and Technology (CELTT) at the University of Baltimore is looking for a highly motivated individual to join us as the Emerging Learning Technologies (ELT) Lead and Instructional Designer. This role presents an exciting opportunity to drive innovation in teaching and learning by exploring the latest software, hardware, and pedagogical approaches. As the ELT Lead, you will collaborate with our CELTT team and faculty across UBalt to enhance instruction and create exceptional learning experiences in all modalities. You will research, learn to use, and provide recommendations on emerging educational technologies, online learning trends, and innovative pedagogical practices. By applying best practices in instructional design, you will implement new tools, strategies, and appropriate technologies for adult learners. In addition, you will develop and implement workshops and web resources to support faculty in various aspects of teaching, including syllabus development, aligning learning outcomes with assessments, and incorporating innovative and evidence-based pedagogies. By partnering with faculty to align learning outcomes, instructional strategies, and technology integration, you will play a vital role in helping them deliver engaging and impactful educational experiences. Experience with data analytics or visualization a plus. Familiarity with an LMS (Canvas), a content management system (SharePoint) is expected but can be learned during onboarding. Required Education and Experience
Education: Baccalaureate degree in instructional design, educational technology or related social sciences.
Experience: Three years instructional technology, curriculum development, course design, and learning management platforms. Instructional design of face-to-face, hybrid and fully online courses and degree programs.
Preferred Education: Master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology or related social sciences.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities in areas to include but not be limited to: instructional design, accessibility/universal design, digital media and/or instructional technology, project coordination. Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills; highly organized and detail orientated; successful performance working with a high degree of independence while able to work well in a team environment; collaboration skills in working with faculty and outside vendors. Knowledge of higher education environment.
