The Administration and Finance Division (A&F) Office of Shared Services (OSS) is a central resource that delivers administrative, business and human resource service functions to the leadership team and the business units within the Division and areas reporting directly to the President at The University of Baltimore. The Accounting Clerk’s primary function for the OSS is performing financial tasks through effective accounting procedures and bookkeeping services. This position will also perform various administrative tasks as needed within the OSS.

Responsibilities:
Reviews and processes all procurement requisitions, accounts payables and receivable transactions, vouchers, reimbursements, and various other accounting tasks. Maintain and track purchases from initiation to receipt and expenditure posting to verify accuracy of data. Serve as liaison to vendors and the Office of the Comptroller to correct errors in billing or to clarify apparent inaccuracies.
Coordinate credit card purchases for OSS assigned areas. Follows procurement policies and proper use of procurement cards to comply with State and University policies, procedures, and regulations. Responsible for maintaining proper documentation, signatures and receipts of expenditures for procurement card program. Perform electronic allocation to proper account code for procurement card transactions.
Manage the OSS email inbox and other administrative tasks as assigned.
Compile, track and maintain data electronically for reporting purposes to management that may or may not include: expenditures to actuals reports, historical fiscal data, contract management, energy and carbon foot print usage, project expenses, vendor and contractor information and other data compilation and reporting as required.
Develop and maintain a complete records management system for all fiscal and contract files consistent with UB audit policies and best practices for minimizing paper to the extent possible.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Required Experience:
Three years of accounting clerical experience. Additional related formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor Degree in business administration or related field
Preferred Experience:
Experience with PeopleSoft Financials

Strong computer software skills. Experience working with Microsoft Office. Strong organizational skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively to meet common goals and objectives. Capacity to evaluate and suggest enhanced processes and procedures that maximize efficiencies. Ability to work as necessary to meet critical deadlines.
