The Executive Director of Admissions leads admission policies, personnel, and operations in the Division of Enrollment Management (EM) to meet University goals for undergraduate, graduate, and transfer student recruitment and enrollment. The role works with EM partners to generate and/or review enrollment reports to project current and future enrollment at UBalt, as well as manages admissions / recruitment personnel within undergraduate and graduate admission.

Key Responsibilities:
Admissions, Recruitment, and Enrollment
• Oversees the implementation of the CRM to manage data / processes and increase enrollment.
• Ensures admitted students meet the admission criteria of UBalt by reviewing the admission decisions of recruiters for accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
• Reviews exceptions to regular admission criteria and advises or escalates to Enrollment Management leadership when deemed appropriate.
• Engages in the recruiting process by planning, coordinating, and overseeing promotional events, campus tours, student interviews, and other admissions activities.
• Works closely with the AVP EM, the Director of Financial Aid and the Director of Graduate Admission to manage the use of UBalt funds and UBalt Foundation scholarships and grants to enroll students.
• Coordinates with the Assistant VP/Registrar to ensure timely evaluation of transfer credit.
• Coordinates with the Assistant VP/Registrar to ensure residency requirements are correctly evaluated and assigned.
• Works with Enrollment Management’s UBalt partners to provide students and parents timely information regarding admissions requirements and processes, financial aid applications, enrollment issues, or other procedures at UBalt.
Admissions Management
• Leads admissions policies, personnel and operations in the Division of Enrollment Management to achieve undergraduate, graduate and transfer student recruitment and enrollment.
• Manages activities of admission recruitment personnel at each stage of the enrollment funnel.
• Assists in establishing UBalt admission policies and requirements.
• Manages recruitment personnel: Hires or recommends for hiring, supervises, coaches, and evaluates recruitment personnel.
• Assists UBalt in establishing, implementing, and evaluating policies and procedures which support the University’s enrollment goals.
Enrollment Management Analysis & Communications
• Generates and/or reviews enrollment reports to project current and future enrollment at UBalt in coordination with Enrollment Management’s UBalt partners.
• In meetings, represents the Division of Enrollment Management on topics related to admission processes at UBalt to internal and external audiences.
• Maintains awareness of internal and external environmental trends and communicates those that may impact enrollment at UBalt.
• Provides input on the evaluation of applications by reviewing and interpreting student information, including test scores, extracurricular activities, and grades.
• Communicates changes, statistics, and other information to Enrollment Management leadership and upon request to other UBalt leaders, including academic leadership and other administrative and department heads.
Required Education:
Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration or other related field / discipline. Additional related experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Required Experience:
Five years of related experience in admissions, recruitment, and / or related higher education areas, with some experience involving personnel supervision.
Preferred Experience:
Eight years of demonstrated leadership experience in admissions, recruitment and/or enrollment management. Experience or knowledge of graduate admission.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Successful track record in higher education admissions, recruitment, and enrollment management required.
• Familiar with the role of financial aid in admission and recruitment of students required.
• Familiar with the role of higher education marketing and admissions communications highly preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with ethnically, culturally, and socially diverse students, staff, faculty, and other constituencies required.
• Motivated self-starter with demonstrated leadership capacity and highly effective project management abilities.
• Comprehensive understanding of data and statistics, admissions requirements and procedures, school funding, and financial aid application processes.
• Ability to analyze and interpret information to lead recruitment personnel in actions resulting in successful enrollment outcomes.
• Experience with and proficiency in the use of a CRM system to effectively manage data and drive outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and networking abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
