The Division of Science, Information Arts and Technologies of the innovative Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Baltimore invites applications for a full-time lecturer position (one-year renewable) in game design to begin in August 2014. For consideration, applicants must have a doctorate in a technical field or an MFA, or substantial industry experience. Also necessary are a strong commitment to teaching and a demonstrated ability to teach a range of courses on game and simulation-related technologies, including 3D animation, at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Individuals committed both to the digital arts and to computer science and information technologies, with a background in game and simulation development or interactive arts and media, are preferred.  

The University of Baltimore, a component of the University System of Maryland, serves a diverse urban community with an emphasis on “knowledge that works.” The Division of Science, Information Arts and Technologies has fifteen full-time faculty and six affiliated faculty and offers three bachelor’s degrees, three post baccalaureate certificates, an M.S. in Interaction Design and Information Architecture, and a D.S. in Interaction and Information Design.

Primary teaching responsibilities will lie in the Simulation and Digital Entertainment B.S. program at the Universities of Shady Grove in Rockville, Maryland. Teaching responsibilities may include online courses and courses at the main campus of the University of Baltimore. The SDE program currently enrolls approximately 215 students and is growing rapidly. Many of our alumni work in the 100+ interactive development companies in the Baltimore-Washington area.

8. Click the Add Attachment link, select References, attach a Word or PDF document with three letters of recommendation, then click "Save and Add More."

9. Click the Add Attachment link, select References, attach a Word or PDF document with a sampling of your publications and/or commercial work.   If this is your last attachment, then click “Save.”  If you’d like to attach another attachment with a sampling or your publications and/or commercial work, then click "Save and Add More."

10.  If you’d like to attach another attachment with a sampling or your publications and/or commercial work, then click the Add Attachment link, select References, and attach a Word or PDF document with the second sampling or your publications and/or commercial work, then click "Save".
