WRIT 101: Learning Outcomes

 

Engage in critical reading to interpret and evaluate complex texts across varied contexts and disciplines.

Demonstrate writing as an iterative process of developing, revising, and refining ideas to produce increasingly polished drafts that communicate effectively and minimize distracting errors.

Conduct research as a process of inquiry to explore questions and evaluate sources, integrating information ethically and accurately into well-organized academic writing.

WRIT 200: Learning Outcomes

 

Analyze how context shapes reading and writing, identify and write effectively in multiple genres, apply rhetorical concepts, and develop and support a controlling idea with clear organization.

Set goals for reading, writing, and research; summarize, interpret, and respond to others' ideas; organize and cite evidence ethically and effectively; and revise across multiple drafts with purpose.

Engage in reflective assessment of your writing, provide and incorporate peer feedback ethically, and revise for both global and local concerns.

Use discipline-specific citation and documentation, apply genre and format conventions, and demonstrate control of grammar, sentence variety, and mechanics.
