Lunch and Learn at Langsdale

When:
Location:
Langsdale Library: Learning Commons, third Floor
Room:
319
Description:

Join us in Room 319 in the Langsdale Library’s new home in the learning commons for a series of informal talks by faculty from across the University. This month's featured faculty member is Carol Molinari from the School of Health and Human Services.

Instructors are transforming courses to promote online learning. A critical first step is to help mentally prepare students: Mindful meditation is one approach.

A structured meditation exercise used for online undergraduate & graduate courses in UB’s Healthcare Management program. Undergraduate & graduate students report that meditation enriched their personal learning. However, group learning was surprisingly worst for those who meditated. Discussion of mindful meditation and its usefulness in courses will be discussed.

Lunch and Learn at Langsdale is a great opportunity for students to engage with professors outside the classroom, for faculty to generate opportunities for collaboration, or for anyone to learn something new!  We’ll provide lemonade and cookies, you provide the discussion.
