What is the BMALE Academy?

The BMALE Academy was created in the fall of 2014 with the core purpose of inspiring high academic achievement among UB's male students of color. Since then, the program has grown in both size and scope. The average semester GPA of program participants improved from 2.52 during fall 2015 to 2.72 in Spring 2016, and the program now boasts an 87.5% retention rate. In addition to their participation in BMALE, students are also active in a number of programs and organzations on campus and at the national and local level.

About the Opening Program...

At the program on September 13th, guests will hear remarks from the BMALE Academy program manager, enjoy a spoken word performance, learn about the evolving structure of the program, and recognize 14 BMALE Academy Scholars for their exceptional academic performance during the spring 2016 semester.

We sincerely hope you are able to join us!
